Testing

Partners in Learning is dedicated to identifying and supporting individuals with dyslexia through comprehensive assessment services.

We administer the Tests of Dyslexia (TOD), a comprehensive assessment designed to identify dyslexia and pinpoint specific areas where students may need support.

The TOD evaluates a range of skills crucial for reading and language development, including:

  • Phonological Processing: Understanding and manipulating sounds in language

  • Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN): Quickly naming letters, numbers, colors, and objects

  • Word Reading and Decoding: Reading fluently and decoding unfamiliar words

  • Encoding: Accurate spelling of dictated words

  • Reading Comprehension: Understanding and interpreting written text

  • Reading Fluency: Reading at an appropriate rate with accuracy and prosody

Our comprehensive approach not only helps in diagnosing dyslexia but also in developing targeted intervention plans tailored to each individual's needs. By identifying both strengths and areas of difficulty, we aim to empower students, providing them with the tools and strategies they need to succeed.

Dyslexia tutoring can be eligible for reimbursement with a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from a physician with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA) or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). Partners in Learning provides itemized invoices for potential reimbursement.

Informal Academic Assessments: A battery of assessments will help to develop an instructional plan, identify strengths and weaknesses, and assist in understanding the educational needs of the child. An independent evaluation can assist parents and a school's multidisciplinary team in making the best educational decisions for a child. Academic Directors will administer a variety of assessments that are selected after parent/child interviews and documentation review. A thorough educational report is developed upon completion of assessments.
